Punctuation is a series of symbols that are used when you write in English. It helps a writer to communicate their message clearly to readers.
For example, if I use the subordinate conjunction 'AS WELL AS' in a sentence, I may or may not need to add a comma.
Do you know the rule? Turn on the CC (Closed Captions) below this video on AS WELL AS to see when I added a comma.
RULE: 1. 'As well as' at the beginning of a sentence NEEDS a comma in the middle. 2. 'As well as' in the middle of the sentence does NOT need a comma. (N. B. The same rule applies to all subordinate conjunctions.)
Today, I discovered an excellent Youtube channel that I would like to share with you. Not only can you learn about punctation symbols such as the COLON, but you can also listen to a British accent. As I keep repeating to my subscribers in my weekly English TIPS, it is important for English learners to be exposed to a variety of accents and vocabulary, so that you can understand them.
